Dear connoieseur,
I am neither famous nor infamous enough to qualify as a major celebrity. One whose website you'd seek out with the single minded dedication of a Seeker looking for the Snitch in Quidditch. So, if you are reading this, chances are that you already know me.
And if you do, then you probably also know that I am a jack-of-many-trades but a master of very few! The lack of mastery, by the way, is not because I did not possess talent. It is more a consequence of a serious lack of industry on my part. Industry as in hard work. Not the lack of industry that we - the people of Bengal - usually otherwise whine about!
One of the trades I was fairly decent at is writing. This blog is an attempt to revive my love for that trade. Not the first attempt though! I'd started two other blogs in the past - The Fourth Dimension and My Sports Journal - both of which today stand abandoned, orphaned, untended and have been left to die a death by oblivion and obscurity.
MakNuggets is somewhat different though. This is my domain. Which means I've paid for it. You know what they say, right? When you pay good money for something, you're more likely to value it and follow through with it! And looks like whoever said this was right! MakNuggets already has more posts than the previous two blogs put together!

মহাশয় / মহাশয়া,
সেইসব বাঙালি যাদের বাংলাটা ঠিক আসে না, তারা আর নীচে নামবেন না! মানে বলতে চাইছি যে আর scroll করবেন না, নীচে পুরোটাই বাংলায় লেখা।
বেশ ছিলাম চাকরি-বাকরি, মা, স্ত্রী, Bangaloreএর traffic আর মাথার উপর একাধিক loan এর বোঝা নিয়ে। গতানুগতিক জীবন - সকালে ব্যাজার মুখে office যাওয়া, রাতে আধমরা হয়ে বাড়ি ফেরা, weekends এ mall বা cinema গিয়ে সময় কাটানো, আর বড়দের বারণ সত্ত্বেও সপ্তাহে অন্তত একবার বাইরে খাওয়া!
কিন্তু ওই, মাথার ভিতর পোকা থাকলে যা হয়! পোকাটা উঠলো নড়ে, মন বললো আবার তাহলে একটু লেখালেখি শুরু করা যাক। যেমন ভাবা তেমনি কাজ, হয়ে গেলাম blogger। আবার, যেরকম আগেও দু-দুবার করেছি!
জীবনে অনেক কিছুই করেছি, কিন্তু কোনোটাতেই শেষ দেখে ছাড়বো জাতীয় মনোভাব নিয়ে লেগেপড়ে থাকিনি। লোকে বলে লেগেপড়ে থাকলে নাকি আমার অনেক কিছুই হতো! এটাতেও থাকবো তার কোনোই guarantee নেই! বাঙালির ল্যাদ বড় সাংঘাতিক জিনিস! কোন ambitionএর বাবার সাধ্যি আছে যে তাকে টক্কর দেয়!
তবে এত বছর পরে আবার শুরু যখন করেছি, খুব নিয়মিতভাবে না হলেও, লিখবো।
ছোট থেকেই অন্যদের নিয়ে মজা করতে আমার ভারি ভালো লাগে! অনেক বকাঝকাও খেয়েছি মায়ের কাছে, কিন্তু বদভ্যাস কি অত সহজে পিছু ছাড়ে? তাই এই siteএ মাঝেমধ্যেই দেখবেন আমি satire বা ব্যাঙ্গরচনা লিখছি। তবে তার প্রায় সবকটাই নিতান্তই ঠাট্টা বা রসিকতা করে লেখা নিরীহ Horatian satire। কাউকে দুঃখ দেওয়া একেবারেই আমার অভিপ্রায় নয়। এছাড়াও রাজনীতি, খেলাধুলো, সিনেমা ইত্যাদি যখন যা মাথায় আসবে লিখবো, ওই যদি ল্যাদ কাটিয়ে উঠতে পারি!
স্কুলে থাকতে গল্প লেখা প্রতিযোগিতায় prizeও পেয়েছিলাম, তাই কালেভদ্রে হয়তো এক আধটা গল্পও বেরোতে পারে আমার keyboard থেকে!
পড়ে like করলে খুশি হবো। কি ভালো লাগলো না, সেটা comment করে জানালে আরও আনন্দ পাবো। আর যদি কেউ share বা subscribe করে আমার এই blog, তাহলে আমার তরফ থেকে Arsalan এর এক packet বিরিয়ানি তার পাকা!
